What Drop Zone is

A ball, 12 rows of pins and 13 slots along the bottom, played only with virtual Bolts. You set how many Bolts go into the round and press once. The ball is knocked left or right at every row and ends up in whichever slot the knocks leave it above. Once it is released there is nothing left to do, and no real money is involved at any point.

One round, in order

Set the stake with the two buttons. It is a count of virtual Bolts placed in this one round, and nothing on the page raises it for you.
Press Drop the ball, or the space bar if your hands are already there. The stake leaves your virtual balance and the ball is released above the top pin.
12 rows, 12 knocks. Each one goes left or right on its own coin flip, drawn while the ball is falling.
The ball settles in one of the 13 slots. That slot multiplies the stake by the figure in the table below, and whatever it adds goes onto your virtual balance in this browser and no further.
If your system is set to reduce motion, the ball goes straight to its slot with no fall drawn. The slot is the same either way.

Slots are numbered from the left, in the order they sit on the board, so the table can be read against the board itself. The multipliers are highest at the two outer slots and lowest in the middle; the chances run the other way round. A fractional Bolts figure is rounded to the nearest whole one, so a stake of 100 in the centre slot comes to 30.

How the ball is steered

Every knock is a separate draw, made in your own browser as the ball falls. Left and right are equally likely at each pin, and 12 knocks give 4,096 paths down the board, every one of them as likely as every other. The slots differ only in how many of those paths reach them: the centre slot is the end of 924 paths, either outer slot is the end of exactly one — the path that goes left at every single row, and the path that goes right at every single row. That is the whole reason the edges are worth the most.

The generator has no memory of the last round. Nothing is stored between rounds and nothing carries over, so a long run of centre slots does not ripen into anything, an outer slot never becomes due, and reaching one uses nothing up. The board that starts your hundredth round is the board that started your first. Where you press, how long you wait and how closely you watch change none of it.

Weigh every slot by its own share of the paths and the board averages about 96.6 virtual Bolts back for every 100 staked over a very long run. That is a pacing decision by us, so a session lasts a while rather than a minute. It describes virtual Bolts and nothing else, it is not a figure from any real-money product, and a short session lands wherever it lands.

A free allowance of Bolts arrives every three hours, and a balance that runs down is topped up at no charge. Playing costs nothing and buying is never required.

The stake is virtual. Bolts are counters kept in this browser. They cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money, goods or vouchers, traded, gifted or moved to another player, and no slot on this board produces a prize.
